Above all, a 'Coach' must be compassionate.
Why might you need a coach? The truth is, you don’t. If you don’t have any goals, or a desire to change, grow, improve or develop, then you don’t need a coach.
But if you want to go further in your life, break through challenges, find your purpose, live life on your terms, awaken in the morning with a sense of wonder for the day you have been given, then you might find value in working with a coach.
Coaches see what we can’t, and have the experience of having gone before us on their own journeys. They know the pitfalls in front of us, and the curve balls that surprise us.
When confronted by our own challenges, we experience a blindness based on our own emotional reactions and fears. This locks us into a tunnel vision, preventing us from seeing outside of the box and discovering new solutions that allow us to balance our lives in different ways.
A coach is someone who sees a bigger landscape, and can help you navigate, but they also understand the deeper secrets of how we think, why we act in certain ways.
Above all, a coach is someone who works with you on strategies. Like different pitches in baseball, or different plays on a football field, a coach works with you to script your plays in life, helping you achieve more than you thought was possible.
